FAQ's

Q. I do not have a canopy frame for my poster bed; will a canopy still work on my bed?

A. Yes, our canopy will work on a bed without a canopy frame.

Q. My canopy bed does not have any slats in the middle; will a canopy work on my bed?

A. Yes, our canopy will work without any center support. Quite often our customers have Rod Iron or Metal beds, in which their canopy frame rails have no center piece.

Q. How do I measure my canopy frame?

A. To measure for a flat style canopy bed, just place a tape measure on the top of the canopy frame and measure from outside edge of the frame length and width.

To measure for an arched canopy frame, place a tape measure on the top and measure from the outside edge to outside edge for the width. For the length, place a tape measure on the top of the canopy frame making sure to keep the tape measure on the curve of the frame and measure from outside edge to outside edge.

Q. My bed has large finials on the corners and they are not removable, will a canopy still fit over them?

A. Yes, our canopy will fit properly, just tell us the diameter of the finials and we will adjust them for you.

Q. What is drop length?

A. The drop length is the distance the sides of the canopy hangs from the top of the canopy frame. On a flat canopy bed the drop length remains the same all the way around the bed. On an arched bed the drop length follows the shape of the arched frame.

Q. Can I get a special length (drop length) on my canopy?

A. Yes, some of our designs are customized to a minimum length of 10 inches and a maximum length of 24 inches. Note a length of up to 24 inches will have an additional charge of $20.00 or for a length over 24 inches an additional fee will apply. The fee will be dependent on the length desired. (We are able to produce a custom canopy that will touch the floor, if desired)

Q. Can my canopy be cleaned?

A. Yes, when you purchase a canopy, a canopy care guide will be included to instruct you on how to care for your canopy to keep it as beautiful as the day you bought it.

Q. Why do I need shipping insurance?

A. This is to insure the cost of your canopy, if for any reason it was lost or damaged via shipping, it will be replaced at no cost to our customers. (Note: not all canopy businesses insure their product and ship only UPS)

Q. What type of package will my canopy be shipped in?

A. We at Olde World Canopies only ship in cardboard boxes with all sides sealed. We also place our canopies in a plastic bag for extra protection inside the box. (Note: there are a lot of others that ship using only plastic bags, but we feel that your canopy could become fraied, tangled, or damaged using these plastic shipping bags.)
